It’s been a crazy busy summer and, unfortunately, I ended up putting my life as an author on hold. But this week I’m back to work writing as well as getting all three books into print. My goal is to have the print version of the entire Sunset Rising trilogy available in paperback with both Ingram and Createspace by early October. I’m getting my proofs next week.
I’m happy to say that my busy work week was lightened with some fantastic news: Sunset Rising is the recipient of the Readers Favorite 2015 Book Award for Dystopian Fiction! With a nice, shiny gold emblem to put on my cover, I’m celebrating by putting Sunset Rising on sale for 99 cents from September 3-20, 2015.
Okay, back to work for me. I need to dig into some writing!
Cheers – Susan
Your story was that good and you deserved the award….so CONGRATULATIONS!
You totally deserve this award Susan; congratulations! I can’t wait to decorate my bookshelf with the complete trilogy 😀
Congratulations!!! The award comes to no surprise to me as “Sunset Rising” is sure to become the next big major motion picture ! I’m so excited for you and all of your hard work as a writer!
I just came across your name while I was looking for a book to read and I am curious as to your family name. My maiden name is McEachern and my family was from north Louisiana near Shreveport. Can you tell me something about your name?
My dad’s family is from Boston. His grandparents arrived in Boston by boat, from Scotland, and settled there. My dad’s father moved to the east coast of Canada, where he met his wife and eventually settled. My dad was born in Boston, but grew up in Canada. I still have McEachern relatives in Boston, whom I’ve never met … except once, and it’s kind of a funny story. Here goes:
My university friend asked me to keep her company on a trip to Connecticut to a friend’s wedding, so off the two of us went in her little MGB convertible on a 19 hour trip to New England. Of course, I didn’t know anyone at the wedding, but that didn’t stop me from having fun and being sociable. In fact, the guy sitting next to me was really gregarious and we hit it off right away. He was an entertainer – an “off Broadway” dancer – and we shared the same sense of humor. Across the table, a girl I didn’t know was looking strangely at us and she finally said, “You two look like twins. Are you related?” Which we initially thought was ludicrous, until we started talking and it turned out his grandmother was my grandfather’s sister. We discovered this connection by one relative – Uncle Frederick (my dad’s namesake) – who was a priest in the Catholic Church and caused a stir when he admitted he was gay.
Small world, eh?
Thank you ladies! You’re amazing support keeps me writing 🙂
And by “you’re” I meant “your”, of course.
